If you only do one thing in la Fortuna this is it!! We had the greatest time with Maquique and absolutely loved the repelling. It’s incredible and the guides are wonderful!!

I am experienced with caving (spelunking) and canyoneering and my wife and I have had many adventures doing these activities on our own. I have also taken many youth groups on excursions. We went on many excursions during our recent Costa Rican trip. We added the "canyoning" as they say in Costa Rica, with the Marquique company at the last minute. Holy cow! Best excursion of the trip! Our guides were really fun, great senses of humor but very professional. They use good equipment and safety backups for the rappels. They worked very hard to make this a great adventure. We heard from other tourists about other canyoning excursions with other companies and they sounded great but as I compared notes, Marquique was the best hands down. You really need to do this excursion with the guys from Marquique!!! P.S. I am 66 years old in case you think you are too old.

This is one of those 'should we, or shouldn't we' adventures. We wanted to do it, but was a bit trepid because we are in our late 50's, with an 18 year old daughter. In the end, we gave it a try, and SO GLAD that we did. We were picked up at our hotel by David who made us feel relaxed and assured; he made the bumpy ride to the launching area fun with his 'Costa Rican massage' joke. We were met at the launching site by the other David. They both helped us with our harnesses, and were very thorough and assured in our preparation. Then off we go. The rappelling was thrilling, the ziplining was fun. We hiked along the water streams and jumped into a refreshing pool. It was our most unique and memorable Costa Rica activity. Beyond the thrill and the fun, our guides ALWAYS made us feel safe, and slowed down when we needed some extra time. The took videos and pictures for us - Hint: bring your waterproof phone pouch. They made it fun; we can see they TRULY enjoyed what they do - especially with their solo expert descends after we had safely landed. So much so we nicked name one 'Funny David' and the other one 'Crazy David' :). The ride back included a lunch stop at EL FOGÓN DE CHELA, where the owner prepared fresh, authentic and fulfilling local dishes for us in a relax and welcoming atmosphere. On the way back to the hotel, our Funny David even stopped to picked some ramutans from a tree on the road for us - they REALLY made sure you are happy! We highly recommend this Maquique Adventure outfit for sheer adrenaline rushes. You WILL get VERY wet, but that was the fun of it. It was rigorous at times, but very doable for someone who is reasonably active - and always safe, fun and friendly. The only complain was from our daughter who quipped at the end - It was TOO SHORT!!! 🙂 Thank you Funny David and Crazy David for a sensational PURA VIDA experience!

My tour with Maquique Adventure was unforgettable! The entire process from booking to the end was so easy. Marvin picked us up right on the dot from my hotel and drove me to the starting location where we met up with David and Jairo. They were very welcoming and friendly and explained the upcoming tour thoroughly. Then we got in our gear and on our way. The experience was awesome! They pointed out Butterflies and answered questions regarding different plants, animals and insects. The preparation for each repel was explained clearly and I felt assured I was in safe hands. I felt like I was hanging out with a couple of my buddies exploring the forest. Jairo took pictures so I didn't have to worry about bringing or loosing my phone. The views were amazing. I stopped several times to take it all in and was never rushed to keep moving forward. Once we returned we headed off to get lunch. Marvin our driver knew we wanted to see animals so he kept an eye out and got us up close with a Sloth and pointed out a couple toucans. Lunch was amazing, nothing like a home made meal in a beautiful garden setting. I would do this again 10x. Thank you David and Jairo.

A veces uno paga por un tour y sale decepcionado, en este es lo contrario, termina uno complacido.. Mi esposa y yo lo disfrutamos ayer y quedamos contentos con todo.. Precio✔️ Calidad✔️ Servicio✔️ Seguridad✔️ Un tour que vale la pena realizar, hasta un cable para canopy hay dentro de él, y que hay que realizar para seguir con esta gran experiencia... Sentimientos encontrados si claro, miedo, placer, felicidad y sobre todo quedar satisfecho con todo.. Son un equipo de muchachos muy capacitado, profesionales y expresan seguridad, el equipo q utilizan seguro y cómodo, Lo q se necesita para dejar el miedo atrás.. Realicen este tour, no se lo pierdan no se van a arrepentir...

Maquique Adventure was by far THE BEST experience we had during our family Costa Rica trip. Our guides, Jairo and Erik, were very respectful, responsible and went well beyond to take care of us every single minute throughout out the tour. We enjoyed all the rappel, zip lines, waterfalls and trails, knowing that we were in really good hands. After all the action, they took us for lunch to a very traditional local Costa Rican 'soda restaurant' where we had a super delicious meal with real natural juices. The dedication, planning and love that this company has put into this experience is truly amazing. Kudos guys! This is a memory we'll never forget.

This was our first time in Costa Rica and our family was recommended Maquique from someone who rented the same house as us. I am so glad they did! Our family had a fantastic time with Maquique Adventure Company! They took us to a beautiful part of the rainforest near Arenal volcano. It was a full adventure from repels to zip-lines to jumping into pools of water (expect to get wet!). They took wonderful pictures of us during the adventure so there is no need to bring a camera or phone. The staff were very nice and helpful. They knew what they were doing and encouraged us when we were wary of heights. We were in a party of 9 with at least 5 guides. My family of 5 ranged from age 14 to 60. My family felt safe the whole time. They took us to a lovely local place for lunch. I would highly recommend maquique if you are looking for a fantastic adventure with fun, energetic people! We had such a great time! It was the highlight of our trip!

This is our second trip to Arenal and we try to stay busy the entire time we are traveling. This was hands down the best adventure we have ever done. The guides seem to have as much fun as we were having. You never feel rushed, but you are never really waiting around. We had a party of 11 with 6 kids. They were entertained the entire time. You need to enjoy physical activity for this adventure.

This is an awesome jungle canyon with numerous amazing waterfalls. The view from the big drop is amazing. The view alone is worth the trip. Their knowledge of the jungle and their enthusiasm is infectious. If you are unsure, they are absolute pros. Their knowledge experience and safe approach will have you in good hands. Do not miss this trip. You will have a time you will not forget
